What an amazing weekend weather-wise, kicked off perfectly on Friday with our Family Fun Night. It was an awesome time for all the people who attended, with great games, a delicious concession stand, beautiful raffle baskets and of course, the popular dunk tank. On behalf of everyone who was able to make it out, THANK YOU to the team of parents who organized everything. We will be featuring it with some great photos in this week's 5 Things To ROAR About.

- On-going Strike Action/Lockout: It will be another "interesting" week on the BC Education landscape as we enter another week of rotating strike action by the BCTF and a partial lockout from BCPSEA. And while we wait for everything to be settled and stability to return, we know that it is a very stressful time for staff, parents and students as field trips are cancelled and upcoming events are left in doubt. Reminder that Monday June 2nd is the next strike day for the Langley School District. Click here for the letter from Superintendent Suzanne Hoffman pertaining to this. And as always, we will strive to stay in constant contact with the community as things unfold so please be sure you are connected to one of the following West Langley communication tools: Facebook, Twitter, Remind 101 or email. We will share information as it becomes available to us. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact Mr. Davids at the school.
- Kindergarten Orientation: This Thursday is our Kindergarten Orientation Session from 9 - 10am. We are excited to welcome all the parents and children who will be joining us in September to begin their school journey at West Langley Elementary
- Professional Learning: During the past week, I have “scooped” a few professional learning articles, websites and videos to Lions Lowdown: Professional Learning at West Langley Elementary. Be sure to check out the following:
